Could you see yourself at Vista College Prep?

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our Commitment:

Vista College Prep is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that all students deserve to see themselves in the adults who shape their lives, and that diverse teams are strong teams.  We strongly believe that demographics do not determine destiny and that all students deserve a quality education.  Our students will achieve educational equity when we make commit to both academic achievement and racial justice.  It is this commitment that drives our decisions, policies, and practices.

Our Team:

We have proudly grown schools where more than 60% of our team identifies as people of color - over twice the national average - and where diversity and inclusion practices inform how we work together as a Vista team. We cultivate and strengthen our diversity through hiring, retention, and leadership development practices. We strive to model inclusion, development from within, listen to diverse perspectives, and above all respect each other’s differences - scholars, families, and staff. We will continue to redefine what is possible in education and ensure we are leading with empathy, modeling courage and working with purpose.

Our Curriculum:

Continuously reflecting on and evolving our K-8 curriculum to embrace and celebrate a diverse array of voices and perspectives is critical to our mission. Our educational approach encourages students to engage with literature from a wide range of authors, fostering vibrant classroom discussions where diverse ideas are explored. We commit to nurturing our students’ voices and fostering a sense of their own agency, recognizing that not only will they need them for their own success but also because the world eagerly awaits the unique perspective they have to offer.
